We are pleased to announce the launch of Design Criticism, a new peer-reviewed journal in design studies. The first issue of this biannual journal will be published in 2007, and we are currently inviting contributions.

Design Criticism seeks to apply to the field of design the methods and theories that are current in the arts and humanities.

The journal's foremost distinction, however, lies in its goal of fostering design criticism as an emerging and increasingly important form of writing. Design Criticism will devote a portion of each issue to experimental writing on contemporary design that is intended to foster and expand discourse in this crucial area.

While Design Criticism will publish historical articles, it also seeks to provide assessment and response to contemporary issues in the field.
